Bioscience Horizons is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing outstanding undergraduate and master’s research in the field of biosciences.
The journal produces insightful and original research articles that disseminate bioscience awareness to the general public and contribute to scientific progress. Our submissions come from all around the world.

Bioscience Horizons was established in 2008, and published by a consortium of UK universities (Nottingham, Leeds, Reading, Bath, Birmingham and Chester) in partnership with Oxford University Press. In 2014, the journal went international, attracting submissions from universities all over the world. In 2008, Bioscience Horizons received an award for publishing innovation and received a Highly Commended certificate from the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers. Bioscience Horizons ceased publication under Oxford University Press at the end of 2018.

From January 2020, the journal was taken up by University College London in association with UCLpress and the administration handed over to UCL students supervised by the academics part of the consortium. UCL aims to develop Bioscience Horizons’ vision thus remaining faithful to its fundamental principles.
Bioscience Horizons is kindly funded by the UCL Division of Biosciences.
